I’ve been writing software professionally since 2016, currently 10 years in. I specialize in event-driven architectures and distributed systems. Scaling a webhook platform to handle 1M+ events/hour at Settle, migrating analytics from MongoDB to ClickHouse at Netlify, building Kafka streaming infrastructure at Namely. These days I’m deep into AI tooling, building workflows that let me move faster without cutting corners.

I’m product-oriented. I’d rather understand why we’re building something than just add features for the sake of it. The best code I’ve written started with a customer problem, not a technical one.

I’ve also open-sourced a CQRS library that was adopted by ~50% of internal services at Namely, with 3 external companies running it in production.

Before GoodDay, I worked at Settle, Turbine, Netlify, Namely, and Andela. Mostly Go, TypeScript, Ruby, with a lot of Kafka and Postgres.

Based in Nairobi, Kenya. Outside work I’m usually chasing my kid around, buried in a book, or logging slow miles in training for a marathon I keep insisting I’m ready for.
